Yandex Disk is a free service that offer free 10GB online storage space for Yandex user to store and manage their files on Yandex's servers. This tutorial will show you how to install Yandex Disk, connect and synchronize Yandex Disk folders on Ubuntu using standard file managers.
Download Yandex Disk
Download Yandex Disk for Linux, you can go to Yandex official site Here to download Yandex Disk app. They provides latest stable .rpm and .deb packages both in 32 and 64 bits. In this case i download yandex-disk_latest_amd64.deb (package for Ubuntu 64-bit) and saved in Ubuntu default 'Downloads' folder.
Installation
- Open your terminal (ctrl + alt +t), than open 'Downloads' folder where yandex-disk_latest_amd64.deb saved.
- Execute .deb file to run installation
- Run client setup
Synchronize Yandex Disk on Linux Ubuntu
First we need to connect to yandex server.
- For Unity Desktop to connect to Disk, go to Menu → Files → Connect to Server and for Gnome Desktop go to Application → Accessories → files → Others Locations → Connect to Server.
- Fill server address in the format : davs://webdav.yandex.com:443. click Connect
- Next you will be prompted your login detail, you can use your Yandex email and password.
- Done. Now you can access your online Yandex Disk from your Ubuntu PC.
